Hi-Way Tabernacle reaches out to the community and beyond through Kindle the Fire Television, Radio and Podcast; events such as the annual Tarkington Independent School District Teachers and Staff Appreciation Luncheon and Spanish interpretation of worship and preaching in each service. HWT serves as a FEMA POD during times of diaster relief distributing needed supplies to the community.

At the January 11 morning worship service, Pastor Byron Reeves, Rural Shade Baptist Church and Judge Joseph McAnally, Precinct 5 Liberty County presented a plaque to Hi-Way Tabernacle Assembly of God by the congregation of Rural Shade Baptist Church of Tarkington Prairie. The plaque read: "In appreciation for your untiring efforts to minister to the Tarkington area during Hurricane Ike, which hit the upper Texas coast on September 12, 2008, by distributing water, ice and meals-ready-to-eat. Your service was a visible demonstration of the compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The congregation of Rural Shade Baptist Church also gave a generous love offering. It was received as a "seed" sown into the ministries of Hi-Way Tabernacle with the confidence that God will bring a tremendous harvest.
